Biography

Lacy Brinson is a country vocalist available to perform throughout the San Antonio and Austin areas. Born and raised in Live Oak, Florida, and known as “Lacy Lee” to close friends and relatives, Lacy is the granddaughter of a circuit-ridin' Southern Baptist preacher. She got her start singing and performing in church, but she honed her musical style and sound while performing in bars and honky tonks over the past 14 years. Lacy's original music draws from her Southern roots and tells her stories in a way that only she can tell them. Although Lacy is country to the core, obvious influences of Western swing, soul, bluegrass, swamp blues, southern gospel, and southern rock infuse her sound. Lacy is available to perform solo or as a duo, trio, or full band.

Both love and her career brought Lacy to San Antonio in April 2012, and she fits right into the Texas music scene. In 2012, Lacy hit the ground running, opening for Robert Earl Keen at the Cattle Baron's Gala in San Antonio. After getting married and having a couple babies, Lacy was featured on the July 2017 cover of Action Magazine in San Antonio. Later that year, Action Magazine featured Lacy as a performer for its 42nd Anniversary Music Festival at Texas Pride Barbecue, where she shared the stage with music legends such as the late Johnny Bush, Augie Meyers, Darrell McCall, and Kinky Friedman, among others.

Lacy's 2019 album, Gratitude, is a tribute album that was recorded in San Antonio by Grammy-winning sound engineer, Marius Perron (Selena, Flaco Jimenez). Award winning musicians, including Tommy Detamore and the late Bobby Flores, joined Lacy and a team of musicians in the studio for that project honoring classic country western songs.

In March 2022, Lacy had the honor of opening for Sunny Sweeney at Sam's Burger Joint Music Hall in San Antonio with a set of her original music. In April 2022, Grammy-nominated songwriter, David Lee, showcased Lacy as the featured songwriter for his songwriter series at the historic Hill Top Cafe in Fredericksburg, Texas. That same month, Lacy was featured with The Prairie Rattlers and the Western Bop Theater on Fox 7's Good Day Austin "Music in the Morning" series, singing her original song, "No Tear In My Beer," cowritten with Jimmy Perkins. In the Summer of 2022, Lacy was added to the City of San Antonio's SAT LIVE roster of musicians at the San Antonio International Airport, a performing arts initiative intended to elevate the customer experience through uplifting and engaging entertainment.

In January 2023, Lacy released her latest original song, "Moonshine Revival," co-written with her husband, Michael McAndrew, based on a true story written by legendary Texas journalist, Sam Kindrick (Action Magazine). Lacy recorded the song at Harter Music in San Antonio. Keith Harter (George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack, Jamey Johnson) produced the song with a team of multi-talented musicians and sound engineers. Moonshine Revival is out now on all platforms. In Spring of 2023, Lacy nominated as a finalist in the category of Best Female Country Vocalist at the San Antonio Country & Rock Music Awards. She was subsequently invited to share the stage with the 2023 Ameripolitan Honky Tonky Female of the Year, Summer Dean, for an intimate show in the Pearl district of San Antonio. In March 2024, Lacy was featured live in studio on Kens5 Great Day SA. To stream a portion of that segment, click the Press tab. In April 2024, Lacy was nominated for the second year in a row as a finalist for Best Female Country Vocalist at the San Antonio Country & Rock Music Awards.

Starting in February 2024, Lacy began digitally releasing more singles from her previously unreleased 2019 project, "Bits & Pieces," including classics such as "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away," featuring a Grammy-award-winning team of musicians, including J. Brian Duncan on piano, the late Bobby Flores on fiddle, and Marius Perron as the sound engineer. The project was commissioned by producer Blair Davis and released to digital media by Modern Cowboy Records, LLC.

When Lacy is not performing or songwriting, she is working her day job as a government attorney, parenting her two redheaded boys with her husband, helping her husband run their small family business, mentoring other artists, and supporting live music as often as she can.

“Shades of Loretta Lynn and other female legends, but Lacy is no copy girl. She writes her own brand of country music and delivers it with a unique style which is all hers. ... She will deliver her set on the upcoming show with nothing but an acoustic guitar. You will believe it when you hear her. If her set at Texas Pride follows the norm, expect the audience to fall deathly silent when she launches into her first song.”
