Meet Lacy
Lacy Brinson's almost twenty years of practice began in private practice in Miami, Florida, under the direct supervision of Ira J. Kurzban, author of Kurzban's Sourcebook on Immigration Law. In 2011, Lacy left private practice to teach immigration law to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). She later served in immigration court in San Antonio, Texas, and ended her 15 years of federal service in August 2026 at the Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas, where she had served for eight years as the civil immigration coordinator.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, Lacy practices exclusively federal and Florida law under her Florida law license. Lacy is Of Counsel for Arce Immigration Law in Miami, Florida, and she assists a limited number of individual clients directly. Lacy's primary focus is providing senior level expertise and federal litigation guidance to attorneys on a contract basis in complex immigration matters. Lacy is also a faculty member of Immigration Court Mentor, where she provides virtual training and mentorship to immigration attorneys.
Lacy is conversationally fluent in Spanish, having grown up in rural North Florida alongside the children of migrant farm workers. In addition to her legal work, Lacy also works full time as a musician, songwriting and performing regularly in the Texas Hill Country while pursuing admission to the Texas Bar. Her current practice is limited exclusively to federal and Florida law.
Lacy's the mom of two redheaded boys, and she's an avid thrifter.
